Going to look at a ninja 6 on thursday
All i know is its a 2001 with 8200 miles on it, was my mates last year and he sold it on to someone that dropped it and basically never got back on it...
ive been told damage to fairing which isnt too bad, handlebars took a bit of a doo-ing and new footpeg which seems about right from dropping it, nothing recorded...
what should i be expecting to pay... and what are they worth with the bits fixed!
already know how much im getting it for but would like to see what people reckon its worth

Depends if it was 'dropped' or 'DROPPED' (i.e. crashed) because if its been crashed I would say there would be more expensive and hidden damage....

if you go new then its 1k for the lower section of fairing and about 800 for the upper section (dad looked into this when his got a few stone chips)
and if its a good example and all fixed i wouldn't think you'd get more than 3.5k for it..

i paid £1900 for mine, 2001, 1600 miles on the clock, one owner. all receipts etc. i wouldn't be paying more than £1000 for a dropped one

2k is the going rate for them in decent condition so I would be wanting a damaged one for closer to a grand.

few examples

mine as it stands now with a few goodies (can, repainted wheels, tail tidy, smoked rear light, smaller indicators, smoked double bubble, carbon yoke cover, ktec internals in the forks)
previos owner fell ill, rode it for 2 summers and then just put it in the garage, then got put into a home, his son never had a licence so used to just run it up and down the road to keep it going

you go from the G2 to the J1 in that time.
G2
J1
stayed the same shape for the J2 aswell
************Stand corrected***********
the G2 was changed to the J1 in 2000

the J1 looks almost identical to the J2 so the same shape as flybikeslee
think the difference between the j1 and the j2 is the engine and suspension set up as they decided to bin the G2 engine when they designed the J1 and they have binned the engines after every new design.

yeah your right flybikeslee but it had the same design, the 636 was run from 2002 onwards untill a year or so ago when they ditch the 636 engine and put the old 599 engine back in them
