What do X10XE (1.0 12v) engines sound like with a cone filter? My mate says they have a 1400 sport kinda snort? Anyone know?

open your airbox and go for a drive and find out. imo they sound like a flat gutless overly loud 1.0

Shit I had one on mine for about a week, it was soon ditched. Drilled + de restricted airbox sounds and performs much better

see when you de restrict an air box, isnt it just drilling lots of holes in so it can suck all the warm air out the engine bay in?

thats more restricted id say?

Well I can't say it boosted the performance Nic lol. But it didn't make the flat spot the cone filter did. If he's after a bit more grunt thats they best and cheapest option I think

cheers shaun, how fast did u get out of ur 12v? i had a 1400 sport but i sold it 2 my mate and it was fast for a sport... 122mph standard and got this 12v as a project not getting it until sunday night. u got any tips on what i can do til it? iv got full koni set up for it

standard VTS onl gets 5 mph more

yup 122, engine was standard just a pipercross filter, just gmax shocks and springs and tarted up a bitty. it was like a go cart

defo drill the airbox, putting a cone on will cause you a world of problems

Cone filters sound crap on the 12v's. I had one on for about an hour, my drilled and derestricted airbox went straight back on, sounded much better than the cone.

Yes but a VTS will get to its top end a hell of alot quicker than a 1400 sport.
