I think it would be interesting to see how many people on here actually save any money from there wages so which of the following do you do?

I'll say I'm going to save, but then buy something I may never ever use instead.

It's impossible to save when you own 6 horses, and now I'm selling them I'm buying a house so all money will go into that!

I only earn £980 a month after tax / pension / health insurance goes out, then we split the bills 50/50 +10% (as a buffer) which leaves me with about £300 to spend insuring my bike, putting petrol in it,supplying parts to DizzyRebel to repair it, lunch money for work and then anything I want, which hasnt been anything for a while, so its quite tricky to save at the minute! But I am generally a saver, put away £40 a week all the way through 2nd year of uni and that cash is still in an ISA should it be needed

I saved a lot of my wages each month for a few years which took a bit of discipline. The result of it is buying a house and kitting it out with everything we wanted.
Still save up for larger toys now, just slower than before as we have a lot of outgoings. Wouldn't change it for the world.

I put away £400 a month regardless and then what ever is left over at the end of the month goes into my car fund.

Yup big style atm. Never used to be until I got a lot of inheritance from all 4 grandparents dieing in 2 years which started the ball rolling.
I then started saving as much as I could from my wages in my old job too.
Now with my business I don't really draw a wage - simply spend money only when I need to - last year my only real wage was buying the XE! The rest of the time I live (ie. socialise etc) off tips. Good thing I didn't pay myself a regular wage really too as it has helped the last couple of months when the weathers really fooked up bookings!
Got a reasonable chunk saved up in various ISA's and savings accounts. Idea being so I can buy a house as my first step on the property ladder rather than renting.
I also want to expand the business - take somebody else on and get a unit and change the van all in the next 2- 3 years so I need to get some serious money behind me!

Saving hard at the moment towards a house deposit.
Looking to get to the 25k mark by christmas with any luck. Currently putting away just over half my wage each month, plus everything I make from photo shoots every other month or so.

I tend to save for a few months then go and spend it all on things like a new mountain bike, laptops etc. then start from scratch and save again for another few months. always something comes up that I want

usually I try to put away £50 to £100 a month, but since before christmas all I have done is pay out for things.
Trying to get enough saved to either get a new car or to put a deposit down on a house in the next few years.
Went to the bank the other day and put in nearly £300 in coins. You should have seen the queue behind me

I'll can save if Ive got something to save for, it not I'll tend to spend it.
Have been saving for the last 6 months or so and managing to put away about £7-800 a month on average.
