Well against what everyone said, i bought a astra gsi

completely standard, (not for long)

Right, after having a bargin insurance (£300 cheaper than a corsa b with a 1.8 in) £375, i cant argue there

after one day of driving, i have decided

the handling is shit, wollows in corners, understeers badly, can't get power down (shit tyres to blame there) engine lacks throttle responce and doesnt realy feel torquey, and my does it drink fuel! oh and brakes and spoungy for standard brakes, have to hit them hard to stop the barge!

just driven the corsa c home, it feels so much more 'tighter' and 'sharper' and just drives alot nicer, gearing, power delivery, and the brakes are spot on!

now i was worned about this, (by fad many times) and i have to say, its worse than i thought! but then again, what i plan to do to the car will sort these issues out

got a set of eibach sportlines sorted (thanks willay/JR), have a panel filter off chris. and just need to get and exhasut system as the back box is fucked

then the all important remap, which will make it drive like a turbo'd car, and have some throttle responce/pick up!

if it drives like a standard astra vxr il be happy, as they drive so nice, they have throttle response, touch the throttle and they just boost up and feel reponsiveness!

got a stage 1 map iv used on a zafia gsi with standard turbo for mean time, (232bhp) il put on, untill the exhasut is on, then il get a map for a vxr turbo, and see 250bhp and 270-290lbft

Car cleaning session (very rare thing)

3.5" outrolled tip required here

needs lowering!

found out a few hours ago, wrong size profile tyres are fitted, 215/45 instead of 215/40

this was gleaming red, camera makes it look pink!

quick polish

backing up standard map, ready for remap, when he finds the money!

could still do with a good mop, but came up will compared

backing up my standard map, and checking the check sum, to see if zafia gsi map i have i can load, during week

again. it is red!

also fitted some new rear lights to the b, in person they dont look to bad, in the pic look abit chav?

I really hope the map improves it as the 50/30 eibach drop I had didnt really improve it much other than looking good. Suspension was a tad bouncy too as they are not progressively wound like the 30/30 springs.

I can vouch for warrens remaps as he has done my Zafira and it drives and performs really well. Will be heading down again soon for some more work. Astra will be 100% better with you bits you mentioned mate.

i cba with a fmic, il let you have the hassel of that

and the blue hoses wont match my colour chris!

i do hope it will! just want to make it good enough for our 2800mile europe road trip! hopefully remap will transform it like you said, as it realy lacks any torque serge id expect from a 200bhp turbo'd car

no didnt drive it

always hard to tell, as never new what it was like before!

all the people iv spoken to, say theres were the same standard, and a map and springs will sort it out

jambo, im not spending alot one the car, as only keeping sub 6 months,

just want wheels refurbed, springs are sorted, ordered a debadged grill

only thing left is an exhasust, unsure weather to get a decat pipe for the main cat :s

Nice one mate! The pics do look a bit pink but I'm guessing that's the camera.

Not keen on the B lights if I'm honest.

I know it's like telling you to suck eggs but have you checked the boost solenoids? Could be why it feels so laggy?

I know going from the GSi to the VXR is you notice how much more punchy the VXR is, but I don't think the F23 helps matters on the GSi.

You say it's done a few miles as well, might want to have a look at the shocks?

RARB will transform it as well, you only have to go in the Nurbergandy to see how well an Astra G can handle so all is not lost.

will get new soliends reguardless, and might blank the rear one off? good idea?

i know if there knacked, if i map it and it boost serges, though the one on the turbo is under a year old and vxr one (better than z20let im told)

every said they wollow, so dont think shocks will be knackered....no leaks anyway

one down full of the vxr (i think) is you constently change gear, too short ration for such a torquey/powerfull engine

iv found dont use 5th unless on motorway, its hard to get used to the gearing, i like the f17 on the C, nice ratio's

gonna take time to get used to the f23 box

Ya, blank the rear one off I know Spanish said he done that.

I know Lee replaced both of them on Rachels on GSi/Fads one which would explain why sometimes that felt a bit flat.
