Thinking of getting the 5530, a guy at vodafone says the phone will connect to the internet automatically to update everyday so if internet isnt included in the contract it will be over extra cost, is this true? Im not bothered about 3G as I never use the internet or want it outside of my house. What do people think of the nokia touchscreens? Its a 24 month contract, can I upgrade in that time? I couldnt guarentee id want the same phone for 2 years. Thanks.

You can turn any internet connectivity off, he's talking rubbish.
Nokia touchscreens aren't bad, you just can't treat them the same as you do with a capacitive one like on the iphone.
You can't upgrade, if you'll get bored quickly it's probably better not getting stuck in a 24 month contract.

I hoped that was the case John. Its a pain anything but 24 month contracts seem to be quite absurdly expensive.

I've got the N97 mini, and it's been good so far, like John said about the internet, you can turn it off, or have it so it asks everytime it tries to connect to the net.
I got a 24 mnth for £25/mnth, with 600 mins, 3000 txts, no internet, unlimited internet is another £7.50 a month (O2 bolt-on)

£165 sim free for the 5530.
Wouldnt bother with a contract. If you can, buy the handset and then get a sim only. Sell/recycle the phone in 12months time whilst its still worth a bit then re do a contract or buy another phone!
As mentioned you can turn the internet connections off, and the auto updates etc..

5800 is a piece of shit, I had mine hated it already , then it broke, it wouldnt turn on without saying software initialisation failed, then it randomly started working after 4 days, then it broke, then it worked again, then someone nicked it from me
