120bhp, as these boxes need higher revs to make the power.
Higher revs = aftermarket chip
higher revs = ARP Rod bolts.
De-cat won't do much, it'll rasp, and standard cat isn't too restrictive.
I would have:
1.6 16v Sport Engine
VX Performance Inlet Manifold
4-2-1 exhaust manifold
CAT back system
ARP Rod bolts
Superchips raised rev limit (7500rpm)
Standard airbox with free flow panel filter element.
And stick in some 264 degree cams (? think thats the higher lift, without needing pocketted pistons).
Should see a healthy 135-140bhp.

TBH it depends on the rollers. Id love to see all these power figures checked at Track 'N' Road in essex (One of the best/most accurate dynos in the UK)
Usually is it very hard to get over 150 without major mods (Carbs, TB's, Supercharging/Turbocharging.)
Even with a powerbox the full advantage cant be used due to the standard lower half. I plan to show the performance gains of simple turning like a custom inlet and a C16XE/X16XEL head.

161 bhp with just an inlet manifold, decat, 4-2-1 and backbox? I don't beleive that, C16XE is 109 bhp as standard and there is no way she could gain 52 bhp from only them mods, I doubt I'll see much more than that with my engine, if that much at all, and I'm doing a-fucking-lot more than that.

Ignoring the other cocky wippets as they were still at school when the engine was done and are on teh Internet rampage.
But yeah, very impressive. Was tuned by Mantzel UK themselves. Power runs before, and after, and compared with a previous RR run. Power could only be out by around 5bhp with differences tallied up.
Put it this way, it would quite happily sit on the ass of my 2.0 corsa until about 90 when mine would pull ahead. Considering her car was about as light as HMS Ark Royal, it was bloody fast.
Engine was sold to SBD after it went pop as a development engine, where I heard they managed to get 256bhp from it!!!!

C16 kit came with lower manifold. Understand the engine, they are not X16 engines, much better heads on them.
And also proven by a Nova that also ran the same engine modifications, which made 156bhp.

I'm not being a cocky whippet, its obvious when I am, but I do not beleive it made 161 bhp, if you said 130 - 140 I could have believed that, but not 161 without carbs or throttle bodies.
Alex - I look forward to seeing you in a few months to receive my prize

C16XE with an X16XEL head makes better power than with a C16XE head, so you're wrong there.

Jeshhh, this argument was covered in the year 2001, im not going over it again.
If you don't want to believe it, fine, don't. It did make the power, it was proven.
XEL head had larger triangular ports, but didn't make hardly any more power than the C16 head.
Nova was green/blueish colour, manztel engine, black 15s. Last saw it at billing in 2001.

Was it put on one of them rolling roads that are brought to shows on a trailor? Lol. And yes the XEL isn't alot better although SBD do recommend it http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Head_Components/Head_Mods/1_6L_Vauxhall%20Heads_Mods.htm

Nope C16xe head was better and this is backed up by the fact SBD buy them at a premium just like the Costcast heads on the 20XE's
Lee Mannings car had
Manzel
264 Schricks
7500 rev limit
Was datron tracked at 0-60 in under 7 secs and did the standing quarter in the low 15's. Was a very quick and well set up car back in the day
