Love the looks of these

What spec do you get with the GT version over a normal Type R?

cheers

extra bits on the GT apparently include:

"Type R GT includes, dual zone climate control (Left:right independent), rain sensing windscreen wipers, refrigerated glove box, automatic headlights with dusk sensor, front fog lights, power folding door mirrors, cruise control, front and rear curtain airbags and is finished in the same three colours as the standard FN2"

Not found out what all the buttons do yet. Excellent drive and nice upgrade from my astra

I said those exact words while looking at this for first time. Well more like I shouted it with the passenger door wide open leaving the couple looking at the next car along staring at me

the white ones are but little bit too much money

Can live with that to be honest. Test drove the old shape and while I was tempted I went with something a little newer.

There were a few cars on my short list and I am sure many of you would of chosen them over this but this was what took my fancy most

I very nearly got one on lease back in 2007 as if you shopped around you could get for just over £200 a month but then I read the road tests and also saw the FD2 that the JDM market got

Not dissing your choice of vehicle buddy just a shame they didnt build upon the performance/handling of the EP3 as otherwise it looks spot on.

Didn't take it badly at all I think Honda missed a trick and if it had the handling and performance of its predecessor than it would of blown a lot of competition out of the water. Suppose its all down to cost.

The old shape very nearly swung it, and I was close to waiting until the new new shape comes out which I think is later this year. Still, pleased with my choice and the grin on my face proves it

I've been looking at new cars and this is on my list as well as a golf Gti or a VXR astra.

i think prices vary, but i have seen a 08 plate normal non GT type r for £11k but 42k miles...

Can i ask what you paid for and where?

what do you think about the handling, seating position etc? speed and torque, mini review would be nice, thanks

I would like an old shape, but even 54 plates are about £8k from a dealership, 3k more could get me a new 1, but im just not sure on these

Really liking the shape of these now

My 2004 old shape one was lovely and you cant beat honda reliability

These ones arnt as good on the limit but for every day use they are a nicer car to be in imo. Ride is quite hard though compared to the EP3.

Although the champ white ones come with a LSD so still put up a good fight on track etc

Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Jaffa i've got to say this mate and i'm sorry if it offends you.

These have to be one of the most pointeless cars you can buy today No quicker than the old one but heavyer...rock hard suspension.

Sooooooo many better cars for the money.Jezza on Top Gear had this sumed up to a t

i'm not ken on the styling myelf as i think they are over styled and look complicated but that does look quite nice.

the seats look really good too, as does the steering wheel.

shame about the power but it's more than enough to compete with other hot hatches.

I beg to differ... Id say luke warm hatches like the Leon FR, Mk5 golf GTi

Hot hatches would be Focus ST, Leon Cupra, Golf R, Mazda MPS etc.

It wont cut it in this company, yes i understand the Type R philosophy but proper Type R`s were lightweight with superb chassis, LSD etc.. proper racers.

Nowadays the Type R badge in the UK is just marketing (and hats of its worked for them, how many clueless neds have you heard say "yeah man got a type R innit) , it started with the EP3 imho although it was fairly capable it was definately the beginning of the dilution process.

Look at the FD2 Civic Type R that the JDM market get, that car is immense. finished in quite high in ECOTY iirc?

same 0-60 give or take 0.1 seconds as the focus st and probably very close to the others.

i dare say it handles better aswell.
