Think I'm with you on this one Paul, although the reality is you have as much chance as the next man.

and in reply to Neo...

Thing is, you don't have as much chance as any one else.

if there's a syndicate at a big company... Say 1000 lines... it's then 76,000 ish to 1. A lot more likely than me winning.

I've always thought, how cool it'd be if someone bought say 100,000 tickets of normal lottery or whatever.

e.g. 500,000 tickets for £113 mil jackpot... worth while investment and makes the odds only 153 to 1.

However, this is what always gets me...
Flipping a coin is 50:50... 2 to 1.

If I said to you, bet £500,000 on the next coin flip being heads, it wouldn't be a particularly safe bet and you'd definately feel there's a even chance you may lose.

so 153 to 1... is still very unlikely!

Paul, regarding your coin toss example, you can make it land on whatever you want everytime you do it if you practice Therefore I will never bet on a coin toss

it's weird...

Rational thought vs Pure luck.

100 scratch cards = stupid as his odds of winning a jackpot would still be piss poor.
However with the logic of 'well someone has to win it' - he's 100 times more likely to be that 'random someone' if he's got 100
