somehow today the key decided to jam, and the ignition barrel wont turn past half the first notch, it will unlock the steering but no ignition. ive got the barrel out, now the key turns freely, the car starts without the housing thats held on the steering rack, my question is :

how do i change the barrel housing, it has these anti theft no headed bolts, how do i get it off the steering column?

also, are the barrel housings universal? can i put my old lock in a new housing and would it work?

i think the barrel housing is at fault so i need to take it off one at the breakers, stick it on my column and hopefully fit my old barrel if it works, and that should work?

anyone know?

lol this reminds me, i was looking outside my window the other day, there was an old man hammering an ignition barrel back into place in a corsa. I just lol'd so much. brute force ftw!
