Looking to get a new car in the next few months, but I might be changing jobs, if I do it will mean an 80 mile round trip per day.

Anyone reccomend a fairly fast diesel? Would love a 150 CDTI astra, but out of my price range

golf mk4 gt tdi? (example below)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-GT-TDI-150-BHP-52-2002-MET-BLACK-F-S-H_W0QQitemZ220558973181QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item335a56d8fd

with another £500 in your budget you may be able to find similar with less miles

I'v gone from a corsa to a golf, all the parts are genuine anniversary parts including full interior. no bbs's and no 150 engine or brakes or springs.

Paid 4k, which i seem as a good buy seeing as a standard 130 good condition is worth 3900

Not as impressed as i thought i would have been.

Expensive to maintain

Thats a great idea if I decide to stay with a bigger car, as I love boras

All depends if I get a new job, if I stay in this job considering a new Ibiza Boncanegra on finance

With a few nice mods you can get fat power AND more fuel effiency (have to get a map, but who wouldnt with a diesel)
