Fuck me,iv excelled myself this time! Was planning on starting to get my car registered as a 2 litre today as i've heard it takes a while and i want to make it to many a show before may! All my documents and insurance letters ( inc proof of 2+ years no claims ) have disapeared they usually live at my dads,3rd draw down inthe filing cabinet along with another 7 sets of documents for all the other cars in the family,as you might of guessed mine arent living there no more! Over the last 2 years my dads house almost burnt down and i've since moved in with my girl and moved again to a bigger house and i cant remember for the life of me if i've lifted them as i would have put them in a safe place! Gona turn the house upside down today in the hope of discovering them! Fucking nightmare! If i cant find them, what is the procedure im goin to have to endure? Obviously get new doc's from the dvla but will i beable to get it booked as a 2ltr on the new docs or im i goin to have to get another original doc from them and then get it changed!? Correct me if im wrong but you also need a headed garage report of " conversion kooshty-ness",the old engine numbnd the new?

Any further info would be spandidily fannytastic!

Cheers!

Thing is i've not been on my own policy this last year so don't think they would sent me my 2 years no claims, could try i suppose! More likely to spew due to the fact everything is gone and the dvla arent known for the speedy response's,just seems its goin to be a hoor load of hassle

Just ring the DVLA and let them the documents were destroyed in a fire and what you need to do, they are the only ones who can give you a 100% answer.

I put 2000cc on the log book when ideclared mine and they wrote back saying very few engines are 2000cc so i had to give exact figure.
