in short, car wont go into gear unless its switched off, when the car is running, in gear with the clutch fully pressed it moves, its in the garage now just had a new clutch and release bearing fitted, but NO new dual mass fitted, the mechanic (who is a mate) said it can only be the dual mass now but he is getting another mechanic who works at the garage but is off today to have a look at it tomorrow because he specialises in deisels. Now I dont doubt my mate for a second, Im just sat here at home worrying about my baby and to a larger extent, my bank ballance, I need reassuring that the dual mass is now all it can be

I wouldn't of thought it was dual mass mate. I wouldn't of thought no matter how knackered it was that it would make it creep with clutch down. Sounds like its not bled out properly or the clutch master is on its way out. Surely the dmf was inspected when the clutch was out so can't be that bad. Does the fluid level drop at all?

Usually when the Dual mass flys go you can hear them rattling when the engine is idleing and the clutch is depressed. Are you still on warrenty? If not be preapared for £500+ for a new flywheel I have to say though I have never heard of a dual mass causing problems going into gear, its normally the seal in the hydraulic release bearing thats given up and unable to push the clutch plate enough.

the dual mass is £329 from Fiat, hopefuly Kurt will be able to sort me one out, he saved me a packet on the clutch kit and hydraulic release bearing
