Well, it's that time again for another "project" thread!

After I sold the corsa, I wanted something bigger, quicker and newer... So it was between a few different cars:

- Astra GSi Turbo (love the looks of these, go fairly well and easily tunable)
- Audi S3 (mk1) (looks were ok, bit dated on the inside and costly)
- Civic Type R (looks fairly good, drives well, ticked all the right boxes! )
- Leon Cupra R (not a big fan of the looks, interior quite tacky, like the astra goes well, and easily tunable)

Well after looking through each of the cars I saw a Civic Type R for sale not too far away:

- £7,500
- 2003 (03)
- 30th Anniversary edition
- Milano Red
- 44k
- FHSH
- Extended Warranty
- VGC
- No Modifications...

After a lot of oh and ahing I finally managed to pop down and see it! Owner took me out for a test drive and let me drive back (very impressed with both the handling and performance!)

Managed to knock him down to £7k and picked it up a couple of weeks later!

Some early snaps...

Well I managed to sell the corsa (and yes I did miss her ), I spent some of the monies on a Gruppe M intake (they are very pricey new and managed to pick up a 2nd hand one!

The sound brought such a huge smile to my face the first time I hit VTEC with it

Apart from a few stickers I just continued to keep her clean and cared for, for the first few months!

Some more snaps:

Unfortunately a couple of months after I had the car I got caught speeding

Well recently I got a pay rise and a bonus so thought I'd treat the civic to a few goodies...

- Spoon Catback £450
(Tailpipe)

B pipe

- Brembo Discs £65

- Goodridge Brake lines £60

- Project Mu Pads £120 (including delivery from Japan!)

The only thing that's been delivered so far is the brake lines... very fast delivery!!!

I will update further when these are fitted!

Plans for the future:
- FRSU (fast road setup)
- Powdercoat Alloys white
- Inlet manifold
- Exhaust manifold
- K100 (ECU)
- Remap

That should see 240-250bhp with a decent handling setup

Nice car but not keen on the pre facelift front.

The FRSU will be the best mod you'll ever do, when I got it done to the wifes ctr it was a different car.

Looking good

Would have gone for federo ds2500 pads myself. Alot cheaper and faultless even with constant abuse

Very true!

It has 2 silencers in total although they are so small they might as well not be there...

Need to get it detailed at some point!!!

One surprising thing though.. the guy I bought it from had his car rr'd 6 weeks ago at 232bhp removed the spoon catback for a different catback (not standard) and it got rr'd @ 212 bhp!!!

with induction kit and cat-back I would say 212 would be the fairer reading.

Rob did a thread on here where he detailed his friends milano red type r and got really good results. cant find the thread though

The guy I bought from only made 212 bhp

He's got loads of mods:

- throttle body
- Fuel line
- ARC intake
- Header
- RBC inlet
- Catback
- K100

I think he needs it mapped again

He thinks mine will be over 200bhp now... not likely though!

Definately feel a difference now though pulls a bit smoother through the revs...

mine made 198 with just a b pipe, felt a bit more responsive with the gm so would have thought it was between 205-210

Found the thread but the pics are dead http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=415550

Big update!!!

My mate is stripping his car and selling loads of stuff!!!!

I will soon be purchasing:

- RBC Inlet manifold (with karcepts and hondata gasket)
- DC Sports Header
- K100
- Carbon Fibre Bonnet
- Rear Anti Roll bar (with drop links)
- Wind deflectors!

I didn't want to rush into buying so much so quickly but it's a bargain!

Here's a pic of what it's soon going to look like

Will get it serviced before I get all the performance mods on, so won't be going on for a month!

Thanks for looking

Go for it mate, don't know too much about the k&n typhoon is that a short arm or long arm intake?

In terms of gains, it pulls a little better through the vtec but can't notice much tbh!

Possibly something to do with paint fade...?

Have you noticed the difference in colour between your bumpers & body yet?

Damn Honda
