ive got a 98 corsa b, my main beam keeps coming on when it likes (mainly when driving past police) if i hold the stork back then it doesnt do it but who can drive holding the indicator stork all the time. one of my mates also has this problem with the same shape corsa, i have tried a new stork which hasnt fixed it
does anyone know if its common and is it easy to fix???

Change the stalk.

My mate had this, took it to a garage and they changed his stalk, problem fixed

Was the new stalk from a scrappy or Vauxhall? Try a new one from Vaux as if your one was from a scrappy as it could have the same problem

i have found a quick simple fix to this, its temporary but just pull out the fuses for full beam, worked for me

But then your main beam wont walk

Stop being cheap and go buy a brand new one.

yeh but its easier than holding the stalk back all the time, and if u can run two cars on apprenticeship wage then u would be "being cheap"

I had same problem, buy a brand new stalk from autovaux or an autoparts place.
