I have it didn't handle to good, also with 14" wheels, it didn't handle too good and on another one 15" didn't handle too good....corsas don't handle too good.
But they can have a lot of grip.

500bhp as said would be far too much power for a track car especially in a corsa my 350ish bhp let corsa is not good on track.

so much to the point iam taking it out and fitting an x16xe

last track day i went on there was a throttle boddied 2litre corsa there! and that was seriously quick! must have been very well set up!

500hp on track with front wheel drive will be pretty poor! yea sure you will blitz most cars on the straights but be holding them up round the bends!

my van is 280hp and on straights there were only a few things that would keep up or get away but on the corners the m3's, exiges etc etc were leaving me!

so i think 17's are least of your problem on track, with 500hp traction will be bigger issue!

What bloody brakes are you fitting?!?!

Seriously..... 300mm 4 pots are more than up to stopping a 1 ton car!!! Anything bigger is a bit of overkill!

17's would be ok on corsa that has be built to take them... decent arch clearence, wider arches to take decent width wheels and suspension.

PS - i used to have 300mm HiSpec 4 pots behind my 15's

space them out wider and do some arch work/trim the inner arches too.

Least of your worries is wheel size though. Running 500bhp on track will probably result in something breaking everytime. Gearboxes, drive shafts etc.

500bhp for drag strip yes..... but 200-300 is more than enough for a corsa round a track.
