Via Dale or RSR

I was waiting for Bruce or Chris to start this, but I'm sure they'll add to it later.

As many of you know, it was the marshal's briefing this weekend. It was also the first glimpse of what will be happening in 2010 vis a vis rules, regs, enforcements etc...

I think the most relevant points to visitors will be:

Everybody:
• Stupid parking (i.e. any parking not in a clearly marked place) will be rewarded with a 100% guaranteed winning ticket to pick your car up from an exciting location in Adenau. This means verges, over kerbs, abandoned next to mates cars which aren't moving etc...
• Parking capacity will be expanded before season begins to match the above enforcement
• No change to basic rules - no vids, no paid taxi laps, etc...

Modded cars:
• Bonnet pins are now TOTALLY verboten. Even if covered with tape or rubber. It's flush mount or standard bonnets only
• Interior trim - NO sharp edges or even tatty-looking 'rip outs' will be tolerated. You must have door cards installed, you can't leave shin-breaking metal beams uncovered under your dash.
• Roll bars and cages must be padded where your body will hit them. This will be checked more.
• Expect more TüV time - this is where a Meister guy from the the standards body here in Germany spends time at the gate spot-checking for safe and unsafe cars. This can only be a good thing provided the decisions are consistent.

I'm sure there's more... Chris, Bruce?

Nothing wrong with those changes IMO. Common sense safety, not political correctness safety.

I think im stopping at the Ring on the way home from my bike trip. Weather I take it on the track or not yet I don't know.

JR, good call actually, what kinda rates do you look at for local BnB's in the area (or outside the area, we can ride in).

I want to spend at least an entire day in the area, visit the museum etc.

A biker would end up with a nice hole in them if they were to hit one

I assume its to do with the fact they can have sharp edges, and a biker hitting one could be seriously injured.

Edit, Too slow.

That seems kind of pointless in my head due to bonnet pins generally being attatched to big hard fast moving lumps of metal! Oh well.

Imagine if that was in England! They would ban petrol as a health and safety risk

Those all seem fair and inteligent rules tbh.

Stop being pissy.

You're only being like this because some twats done a runner with your money, take your Px90 muscles up this house and windmill him.

I saw Rory about an hour ago in the 106, I was flat out on the scooter (71mph) and he was going the other way, hes put white 205 GTi 1.9 rims on it.

exactly what i was thinking, surley when they get to the point of hitting the bonnet pin they should have more important things on there mind like not hitting the barriers and killing them selves.

You'd never pass an IVA test with bonnet pins though, it's probably got something to do with them not wanting cars with illegal items on them too.

Don't forget Germany is very strict for decent equipment.

They might have had issues with bonnet pins breaking and flipping the bonnets on cars? Probably has nothing to do with bikes at all, I really can't see it being bikes for that one.

Germany runs those strict TUV rules, so im gussing its some kind of safety issue. It won't be the bikes though Who said that plonker.

Yes, im falling off at 90mph, theres a VW Golf comign towards me at 120mph, SHITTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE look at those bonnet pins...........

In all seriousness though, i'd have thought they'd want less risk of there being little sharp bits of stuff dropping off of cars and causing punctures.

It sort of makes sense in a germanic kind of way.
