Started another build thread for this as i'd deleted the last one.
Bought this Tigra back on October '09 from a member on here called Chris S. Wanted to get another Corsa after having a Fiat Cinquecento, Mk2 Golf GTI and a Mk3 Polo after selling my old Corsa van. I needed something i knew i could fix should it go wrong, and strange as it may seem i like them! But there were none that took my interest when i was looking for one, but this came up, and is pretty much a Corsa, but with a different shell on it! I actually think they look good, even if they are classed as a girls car!
This is how i picked it up...
It stayed like that till around January time. I couldn't help thinking something wasn't quite right with the suspension. After putting on a jumper, hooded jacket and coat on, i ventured out into the cold and took the wheels off. And the reason it was such a shit ride was staring me in the face.....chopped springs on the front, and heated up rear springs. Now i've chopped a coil or two off uprated springs, but not on standard stuff with standard shocks! Jeeez! So put an order in for a set of Spax RSX coilovers. While i was at it, i bought a set of polished Porsche 928's in 7" and 8" widths.
Got the suspension fitted eventually after nearly all of the snow had gone
And now onto the wheels. These are the fronts. They're 7j's with 165/40/16's pinged on.
And these are the 8j rears with 195/40/16's on
Fit the adapters. The front adapters are slightly wider due to the front wheels having a higher ET which is 65. The rears are ET53 iirc
Then i took it round the block to my mates to make sure everything was ok, and took some rubbish pics.
Then took some not much, but slightly better pics...
After not being too happy with the way they fit and looked on the car, i sold them a couple of days later. Didn't lose money on them which was a bonus. At the time i needed the money to pay for bits on my Aprilia RS250 track bike. So back on the Softstars went.
Couple of weeks ago i was browsing the Parts Classifieds on here and saw VXAndy was wanting to swap his OZ Superturismo's for a set of Softstars. After exchanging a few u2u's, a date was set to swap the wheels over. Both parties were happy with the deal and off i went home with my new to me wheels. They needed a couple of tyres putting on, so opted for a pair of 195/40/16's. These are on the front while the rear is on 195/45/16's. I know its cheating filling the rear arches with bigger profile tyres, but i happen to think it now looks ace. I'll let you decide...
Next plans starting tomorrow morning before work is to smoke the front lights. Then i'll be getting some plain number plates, smoked indicator's and losing the rear wiper. Long term plans are to get the passenger side rear arch re-sprayed and have a few bits smoothed.

Hmmm? Not so sure about just the fogs in yellow. How's about the head lights yellow aswell, or the headlights and fog's smoked?
