Was behind a Vectra C 09 Plate the other day, and a car pulled out infront of the Vectra Causing the Vectra driver to brake harshly.

While the Vectra was braking the brake lights flashed, quite fast. Same speed as an indicator when one of them is faulty.

There was a smell of rubber so they had obviously used the ABS.

Just wondering if this is a new 'Safety' Feature or wether it was a fault?

Maybe he pulled the handbrake while constantly jumping on and off the brake pedal.

My Astra does this aswell.. Pretty much all the newer Vauxhalls do it.

Auto flashing hazards is illegal in the UK so this must be the alternative.

Loads of newer cars do it - either flash the high level brake light or the hazards iirc. My parents Corsa D Design did it too.

think you've got it mixed up mate as my fiesta 07 plate did this. it's definitely not illegal anyway as it's a safety feature to warn people behind you.
