My mate used to own a Y reg Leon Cupra and one of my other mates has a Clio 172 Cup.
The Leon is a nice car if you want a bit of luxary - Nice leather seats, climate, few toys and nippy. By nippy I mean for a car of its size and acceptable performance.
The Clio understandably isn't built as well but is a little bit quicker, cheaper inside and bits are prone to fall off. Notable the centre section and a few bits of interior trim. Peak power is good, really comes on at 6k.

I think you get either a good clio or bad one, nothing inbetween, 2 mates have clio's, ones fine nothing goes wrong, the other has loads of problems, people on here seem to have loads of problems or none at all too

My mates centre section fell off whilst he was driving, the trim around his gear lever also broke. There were a few people on Scoobynet who also had their centre sections come away.
As Antnee says, you must have a good one!

Agree centre section do fail I can't denny that one but everything else is fine.
You get good and bad with any car you buy. Also it depends like any other car how you look after it.
Leons are boring to drive to me but to someone else who likes boost they may love it.
Drive both and decide lucky dip is and forum opinion is risky.

It's not to do with bits physically falling off clio's it's the fact that it seems like it could at any moment.
Turbo and having to brake slightly more for corners ftw.
