after trying 18x 5050smd headllight bulbs on my smart.. I thought how poor the light was on the road shining down.. not brill for driving. So now I've added the side light bulbs to my collection too. 
These do seem safer to use, as you don't reply on the side light bulb for main driving at night.

They look a twat though. I have similar in my number plate lamps, bright as fook as you can see:
But wouldnt put them in the headlight just cause of how shit the look close up.

They are both bright.
What I like is that they are white light and not that yellow-y looking white you get from a normal bulb.
To see the car/van with them on they look bright.
The proper headlight bulb I have in my Smart, has the same white look, but as I said in my forst post, not good for driving with at night... nearest I can say is it was lke driving just with side lights on.
The same 5050smd's are on these footwell strip lights I've got..
so much more light fromt he 5050smd's than the old LED strips I used to have.
As brightness is rated by LUMENS, every 5050smd is 20x Lumen, every 1210smd is 7x Lumem, every FLUX chip is 8x Lumen, every LED is 4x Lumen, every High Power Chip is 45x Lumen
Fr head light bulbs I now want 18x high power Chip, tat way it might be as good as a normal head light bulb........ I'll have to wait for now.

i had those in the focus for a bit and although they looked good at night, during the day you could see they looked gay and shit because of the yellow bits.

ive got them in my corsa but the 5 led version, its my second set which so far have been pretty good

I've got the 15 led ones in my car and they're brilliant, really bright and matches the hids.
