I had so much fun when i had my Supermoto 125. plus it was quicker than my mates Yami 125 (similar to the aprilia above). I loved it that much I might be getting another one for myself.

Fucking hell how many people have signed up to this myth?

I've owned 3 Aprilias now all of which have been given death and all lived to when they were sold.

If you use good oil they last as long as you want them to last.

As above, regular servicing, good quality oil and warming up are all key to 2 stroke long life. Never had an issue with any of mine. I loved the RS125 and 250 but would fancy an MX125 for a little commuter hoon bike.

MX125 all the way..

RS125 = waste of time, why have all the impracticalities of a sports bike and no performance!

I'd use the money to take my full bike test.

Given the choice, i'd take the Moto-X bike.

FFS some people have no intention of doing their bike test, I know full well a 125 is enough for me with cars being my main interest.

Is it the case that the MX125 engine is the same as the RS125 engine like the RX50 and RS50?

What does the MX125 top out at? 85mph? The RS being capable of 100mph

Probably different gearing Ollie. I remember when I de-restricted the 50, first and second were gone in no time so I had to change it to have longer gearing and then it went!

Yeah deffo different gearing as my mates RS50 was quite a bit faster than another mates RX50 when de-restricted but they had exactly the same engines.

I had an rs50, ran sweet. See pics in my garage, me and my dad rebuilt it for my 16th Birthday. Then traded my mate for the derbi senda 50 in my garage, my mate fit an 80 kit and a big card to the aprillia, and blew it up twice. I was gutted, he wrecked it! derbi was more fun though tbh.

Im debating whether to get a 125 too

Did you have any trouble with the Senda? I had the 125cc version and I always had trouble with the exhasut flange, apart from that it was a nice bike.

Twat I knew had a Derbi Senda, the day he got it running properly my mate took it down to Sainsburys, when he came out it had been stolen

He got a Derbi GPR to replace it.

I'd say MX125 my mate used to have one and it shit all over my dt125. He had a few little problems with it though. My dt125 was 100% reliable you not fancy a dt125 sm?

I had a Derbi GPR, great fun little bike and with some tinkering would hit 72-75 clock speed, only downside was that if you disconnected part of the loom you could by pass the ignition and just bump it off, albeit it hidden under the fairing it could be got at easily and its not going to be hard to brake the steering lock

Im thinking the reason is the mx125 dosnt hit 100 is because its either not full power, or they are just far from streamline unlike the rs125.

Dont want a dt, there too slow. if its gonna be pish slow id rather do my test but im sure owning a smoker again will be fun, and alot cheaper

I reckon a full power MX125 will do 85mph IMO, the gearing will be different as it's off roader and it's not as aerodynamic.
