ma mates got a coil pak wan and hes tkin his engine out to recondition his original engine so he needs another one while he does that and a distributor engine does not run wile coil pack management thats the diffrence

But you can run a distributor engine on a coil pack managment

you swap everything round it does same bare block/head....i changed a dizzy to coil pack no bother

What about the cams tho??Wouldnt it be easier just firing in a coilpack engine seeing as all the wiring etc it in the car??Save faffing about swapping stuff over.

Exhaust cams certainly aint the same.The dizzy cam is longer for a start.

You 100% sure on that??The exhaust cam on the dizzy engine is longer and has an oilway,the dispack engine has a ball bearing where the oil way would be.

How is the cam longer. If your wanting to put a distibutor onto a coil pack engine just chap the ball bearing into the cam. It isnt an oil way its for the locating pin for the distibutor!

Well the conversion guides on both Migweb and Vauxsport state that the exhaust cam is needed when going from 1 to the other.

if u phone up for a crank sensor for a dizzy or a coil pack differnt prices and part numbers and the timing set up is different belts are different sizes and aree set up in total different way

Look im telling you its the same, Ive changed plenty of coil pack engines to distibutor ones and vice versa without changing cams!

Belts arent different sizes they are different toothed belts. One has square teeth and the other one has round teeth

the belt on a coil pack valver is the same belt that fits on a 1.7 diesel astra van and the dizzy wan is total diff size ave dun a few myself

The difference in the belt is the teeth as I have said above, one is square and the other one is round. Ive been fucking around with valvers for about 6 years. I know what im talking about
