not bad cars tbh. just look out for rusty arches and worn bushes. Also try and test the diff (see if it locks up) as they come with an LSD. make sure the car isn't a nikasil engine, and check for problems with the vanos

How can you tell if it has the nikasil lump?

A friend had one of these years ago and the engine went, dont have exact details of the failure but luckily he had a new lump under warranty.

The earlier ones had an LSD the later ones with ASC have an open diff.

its not a bmw but i drive a vectra gsi v6. its a comfy car. i really dont see the point in having an awful to drive daily driver of a car. why make a 3 mile journey the most uncomfortable noisy rattle experience of your life when you could drive in peace and quiet and get there without needing your spine jigged.

that alone makes a good enough reason to buy a bmw.

A quick check to see if it has the upgraded alusil block is this metal tag on the block beside the starter motor (taken from my car)
