Stes car passed the SVA without one. Not sure on the legality if it's manufactured to be there.

i would say it wouldnt be a problem as it would be travelling to a place to have its glass put back in. although i would need to book the mot the same day so that i could actually drive it.

i cant actually find any information about it however.

If its not there you can't test it. Mechanic told me it'd pass an MOT without a windscreen so that would suggest it'd be roadworthy too.

100percent it's legal,

there's a guy round here has a 27litre v12 rover sd1 and the engine is where part of the screen is meant to be,

he has a plastic one but for mot thats no legal so he goes with out one,

It's not legal as the windscreen is a structural support for the car.

the car itself has a roll cage welded in to the a and b pillars. im sure thats added anout structure in.

im more wondering if i would be in bother just driving it to a windscreen place. its about 8 miles away.

Could you not arrange to leave it at work or the glass place overnight if you were to drive it over in the dark? Just thinking it's running less risk of getting seen if you drive it in the dark with no glass...

There used to be a fuck up in the law which meant you could legally have no windscreen but still needed wipers there wether windscreen or not.

dunno wether its still the same but used to be that. random.

I can't see that driving it there would be a problem. I got pulled with a cracked screen a few years ago and just got told to have it fixed and tested (gave me a vehicle defect form to hand back in) as I was having it fixed that day anyway it wasn't an issue ..... I did get charged £10 to get it tested tho

EDIT: my spelling is rubbish
