Was speaking to a Councillor that called here yesterday, asked him the percentage of people that are in personal debt in the UK, he didn't have a clue

Anyway, are you in Credit or Debt??

The debt you're in, what are your plans to sort it out?

Countries in the red....

I went to click credit... I have no debts such as credit card or overdraft and have money in the bank.

But then remembered I still owe about 16k student loans (gained interest for a few years before i started paying it off)... so I'll say debt.

Sorry to those who replied, but just trying to get a poll that doesn't bugger up...

I will try again, got trashed when I posted

Debt.

About 6k's worth of lease payments on the car. I could give it back at any time now though and not cost me anything so not sure if that counts.
4k for my laser eye surgery. Hopefully have this paid off in September.

Think thats it.

Credit.

Haven't got a mortgage yet but wouldn't see that as 'personal debt' anyway. The mortgage is secured on the value of the house so if you sold it you wouldn't owe anything = not debt.

As long as your not in negative equity, I agree with Andy, I don't think I'm in debt as if I sold my car I could so very easily cover the cost of what I owe on it.

If you haven't been in debt you've never lived

I only take on debt when I know I can comfortably afford the repayments. Would never get myself in a situation where I'm struggling to repay it etc.

Scummers of this country annoy me, have a decent credit rating, and then get 10 credit cards, go on holidays, rent a nice place, get lifes lux's, and then declare themselves bankrupt. 3 years later, their credit rating is as good as new.

I might give that a try. Sounds like a good life if you can get away with that easily

The people who rented the house my sister now lives in did that.

They got shit loads of debt, then moved to Spain. They seemingly havent been caught as my sister keeps getting their mail still.
