Today saw me oop North (for me anyway!!) at Jamsport to tackle Mark's (broster) BMW M5 - carrying out a custom detail with the aim of enhancing & protecting the exterior.

Products used:

Prerinse: Bilt Hamber Autofoam
Wheels: AS G101, Tardis & Clay, later sealed with CG Jetseal
Tyres & Arches: AS G101 to clean, AS Rubber & Plastic dressing to dress arches, Nielsens Brilliance to dress tyres
Wash: AS Duet, Two Bucket Method, Refined Detail Wash Mitt, Gritguards
Dry: AS Tango, Refined Detail Miracle Driers
De-tar: AS Tardis
Clay: Bilt Hamber Soft Autoclay, weak AS Reglaze as lube
Enhancement: 3M FastCut+ with blob of Extrafine on 3M Yellow or Green pads depending on panel via Milwaukee rotary
Refinement: Dodo Juice Lime Prime on 3M Blue pad via UDM
Glaze: Poorboys Black Hole
Wax: 2 x coats of AS Wax
QD / Final wipedown: Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical
Glass: Nielsens Blue Window
Exhausts: Wirewool & Britemax twins
Black Trim: AS Trim Wizard

Photos are courtesy of Stu who was with me today

Hologrammes present on corrected side as photo taken after just enhancement stage, yet to be refined.

And a couple of arty farty ones after we rinsed it down after the first coat of wax to rid excess polish dust:

Fin!

Good to meet Mark today, and good to see some awesome cars floating around Jamsport

Comments, questions & constructive criticism welcome as per usual.

Thanks for looking!

Very impressed with the finish, infact everyone at work commented on it!

Got some after pics of it on the way home, ill add them later, cars never been so clean! Looking forward to seeing what you can do with our rs when its done!

Thanks for traveling up to do the car today, anyone thinking of using refined detail, don't hesitate!

Only problem with it is now I'm driving the car everywhere like an old man to avoid brake dust etc!!!

The Autoglym stuff and a soft brush always works well for me.

It has standard rear boxes on it but center silencers have been removed with a supersprint x-pipe.

No vids as yet...

cheers for the comments! with the car recently having some paint work done i thought it looked great, with rich and stu working on it its has transfromed it!

chrex, its those little touches i like about the car, to the untrained eye, its just a 5 series, only the exhausts really give it away, compared to an rs4 or something the noise is alot more "refined" etc!

i dont think you can compare one car price with another, also you need to counter the traveling expences etc!

im sure if you contact rich he will give you a quote, but i found his list price for the work to be very competative (spelling) compared to local companies whos work i hadnt seen before hand.
