Is so sure that Vauxhall built a production VX220 'diesel' & that he almost bought one that he's bet me £5 he'll prove himself right.

He's so wound up about it he's been franticly searching google all afternoon!!

There was a prototype at the paris motorshow one year.

This guy is claiming he almost bought a used one off the forecourt!!

dunno why they have never built a new model of the vx220

im sure ther is a good enough market to warrant it anyway

Seems silly as like you say I am sure there is a market. I mean its got to be as big as the one for the VXR8 etc

There is not a market for Vauxhall to try and sell a proper car, they stopped making the current ones in 2005 but dealers only got rid of the last ones in 2007/08. Its more Lotus than an Elise but badge snobbery rules.

Averaged 113 mpg over 24 hour test and topped 155mph I think they built 2.

they have built a replacement, just not a vauxhall anymore
