dont know what it was but it was pretty quick, some bloke eying me up and thinking hes great in front of his bit on the sidewould not let me past doing a 100mph on the a1 going north comes into three lanes and I goes to accelerate and moved into the other lane when he floors his car anyway I am having none of being beaten so I floor mine and flew past him dont think he knew what hit him just put his hand up in admission and flew past at 110 and left him there eased off and he would not come near me again great eh

Ok since you came up behind him what did the badge on the back of his say? Dturbo? XS? GTi-6? Rallye?
Also, if you were both doing 100, and you both floored it and you went 'flying' past at 110MPH he must have hit the brake, or you must have just got by at about 5MPH more than him.

Wow i'm so impressed u passed someone at 110MPH on the motorway! I and most of us on here could do that easy, and I dare say the 306 could have passed u no prob if he'd wanted to! Worry about ya 0-60 or 0-80 if ya really want and not doin 110 then u'll keep ya licence and thats more to brag about anyway than doin 110!

think it may have been dturbo wasnt too bothered about the speed just the fact that he would not let me past he was trying too piss me off the way I remember it we were both doing 100 and in the overtaking lane I pulled into the third lane and he tried to keep up by stepping on the gas so I put me foot down and left him

I aint arguing with the fact of engines its a quick car mate I dont need any extra speed the gsi has a superb engine and I am getting a 2.0l turbo in the summer so I will have all the power I need thanks

my 1.0 will keep up with a 1.4 306....upto 105mph, and then the 306 would just about have the edge...due to the larger cc.
They handle well, but performance wise unless its a GTi-6 or better - they are not brilliant, even the 2 litre XSi is poor performance wise.

why is 1.2 8v 10 horsepower less than 1.0 12v dnt make sence iv gt 1.2 8v and its shit slow so does any one no off a boost i can get a few more horses behind me

thers no way a 1.0 corsa will go 105 mph!!!when i had mine it would struggle to get to 95!and a 1.4 306 would whip its ass!

the 1.0 is faster than your 1.2 because it is 12v, not 8. The torque of your engine is enough to give it an edge over the 1.0 up to about 60, then the 1.0 will start to pull away. 'Corsas Suck', im with you on this one, but i dont agree with your name! the 1.2 will do 95mph, no more, no less. the 1.0 is about the same.

well an mi-16 is as good as a gti-6.....im not saying my corsa is fast.....but all im saying is most 306's aren't either.......
A 1.4 306 has 73bhp - and is a fair bit heavier then a corsa....so it would not whip its ass, if you can only get 95 from your 1.0 then you should push it a bit more, it will do the speed....105 was flat out with a BIG BIG long stretch of road...

mi16 is in standard road tune where as gti-6 isnt..btw
306gti-6 137bhp/tonne

my mate has a 1.6i 306 i got a 1.4si corsa and mine is faster around town by far cause he has a bigger car however he claims he took his car to 140mph whilst my mate who has a 1.8 20 valve turbo seat ibiza cant get over 140mph
