Where's the hotel?
Personally I prefer the quieter places, The friary, on Friargate is a great pub (I used to work there) Has a club attached, Scream, is open till 3am.
Further into town you got Revolutions, Coyote Wild, both late opening bars.
Got the usual Wetherspoons, Lloyds etc...
Mosh is good if you're into you Indie/Emo/Punk/Rock-y stuff.
Otherwise you'll probably end up at Zanzibar or Syn if you're after a nightclub.
Got a couple of stripclubs now too though

SYN is the best place to end up Imo http://www.syn-derby.com/
Saturday is when I usually go, 2 Dance floors 1 one playing Dance, electro, floor fillers and the other is a smaller dance floor playing RnB/Urban.
Think entry is around £6 after midnight and free before 11:30

Hotel is Premier Inn
Derby South
Foresters Leisure Park
Osmaston Park Road
Derby
DE23 8AG
Girlfriend booked it for 6 of us..
I prefer fairly quiet places too (getting old)
See what the others say as to clubs etc
Is there a Walkabout ? they are normally a pretty good night

Can't really go wrong around Friargate. Most of the bars/late night bars/club bars etc are in that area. Quite a few nice restaurants as well all in that area so if you get a cab, ask them to drop you in that area and you'll be okay

SteveW....I wouldnt go to syn unless your black or about 18. Saying that im non and i go alot
I dont think it would be your scene tbh judying but your posts etc.
Sick to the bars on saddlergate and the likes. Just have a walk around and make what you wat of it.
I go derby and nottingham everyweekend and i would say nottingham is a much better night out as it appeals to all sorts of people! You can have a mad club night, or a casual posh drink in a total different area due to the size of the place.
Saying that a local lad got stabbed in the middle of the street on saturday over a cigarette....
Edited for shit spelling

I dont do bullshit
There is some good bars in derby, but i wouldnt say there is really a 'club' that would appeal to you.

tbf, i'd agree with that the clubs are shit, but a lot of bars are open till 1 or 2 on a friday/saturday night anyway.
I'm 27 now, and generally just stay in the Friary, music isn't too loud, not too many dicks, 4 pool tables and a big beer garden, can't argue.
Other than that places like Bar Lisi on Sadlergate, or like you said, Walkabout is open till 2 or 3 I think, I dunno, i'm old and in bed by 12 normally nowadays.

Whats the bar where you wait at the door until a table is available and then its table service all night; really relaxed, lounge bar.
If your after somewhere amazing to eat - try Masa

How long is a piece of string?
There are plenty of travel Lodges/premier Inns etc. Ashbourne is closest; they're the same price all year round; you might even drop on an offer or you could try the Peveril of the Peak in Thorpe/Dovedale; Mirage in Ashbourne or the hotel my missus runs "Callow Hall" but that'll be £££s; I think minimum is £190 DBB for 2 in a standard room
