Anyone know any way of finding a radio code for an 08 plate fiesta without paying the steelers £20 fee or having to take the unit out to get the code from the bottom?

yes, either:

- phone the garage you got the car from. I had to do this for my old fiesta.

- download a radiocode keygen (but you will need the serial number on the radio)

- look in the stereo manual

If you switch on the ignition with your foot on the brake, then get out of the passengerside door, open the boot, get in the drivers side (without shutting the boot or the passenger door) and honk the horn the code will flash up on the screen for 5 seconds.

All the ebay ones need to have the serial no which i you have to take the system out to get. Need somewhere which can do it off the chasis number.

Car is a salvage car so no idea on original dealer at the moment nor do i have any books

And make a post, I had my Ford radio code within 5 minutes

Although just read you don't have the serial, so I'm not so sure now
