Been offered one real real cheap, 1.25 Zetec SE (I think? got all the bells and whistles!) on an 02 plate, fairly good nick but the bottom end of the engine is eating itself, similar to the Xe death knock

Was wondered if the Puka 1.7 engine was a straight swap on these? I know they go in the 1.6 Zetec S's quite easy but what about the 1.25's?

Ta very muchly!

the puma 1.7 goes into the mk5 1.6 zetec s. the mk6 is a totally different model altogether.

not heard about them having bells and whistles either, must've been an expensive option

Have a Mk5 zetec s rear bumper and miltek manifold if they're any use?

Also have a Mk6 in black (still needs a few bits though )

Edit - Might still have a 1.25 engine down there aswell but can't remember if it sold of not.

Yes and lot of people get round it you speak as if no young person can get into a performance car after a shunt

I mean come on the money spent on converting a car could of been spent on the insurance.

Buy a saxo vts enjoy it and learn alot when it ineveratably breaks and develops problems

get a mk1 for sub £1000 and I would imaging you could insure it tpft for around £600
