check sills and rear arches and spare wheel well for rust and general shit like oil and water for the normal stuff oh and the drivers seat like to wear badly on the bolster

rot is your worst enemy with these cars. check strut top mounts aswell. try and look for a standard one aswell if you can there always usually the best ones.

thats the thing with some cars they look mint on the outside and there rotted to hell underneath. my nova GTE i had looked pretty good on the outside but was pretty badly rotten. sold it to a local boy who is gona sort it all. went good tho

check the front crossmember, front inner arches and chassis legs, rear inner arches specifically arround the pipe for the fuel tank, also check the back panel, spare wheel well and if you can the rear spring seats, b pillars for cracks and along the top of the windscreen for rust

cheers lads ... the arches and strut top mounts are fine along with b-pillars . will check out sills and boot floor etc tomoro. what about mechanical?? i have a nova saloon the now so its abit diffrent to a corsa hence all the questions ....and am from dunfermline mike.

is it a earlie gsi or a later one? the earlie one is the c16xe and is a good engine very tunable think there 109 bhp standered , if its a later gsi itl be the x16xe same engine as found in a corsa sport but yet again also good engines with alot of potential , i have one and its very lively

its an N reg so its the later one. ye i have been told the lively .... my nova is a 1.6 8v but cam'd . skimmed head four branch and weber card ...and beats saxo vts . corsa quicker than that?

your nova will be quicker than a standard gsi i would think. i had a nova GTE with a cam and dastek unichip and it was quicker than my 1.6 corsa sport. are you going to total vauxhall at crail in may?

gsi has an induction kit and a exhaust . not a massive diffrence... ur bound to have seen my nova its a blue saloon... had it for about 2 years gettin board of it. and wont be going to total vauxhall as my mate is racing at knockhill that weekend and needs the help.

well my corsa sport wasnt too bed would imagine it will be better than a carb'd 1.6 8v.

my x16xe corsa sport has a mantzel inlet janspeed 4-2-1 and a full sportex system with a de cat and it goes well ........ and who ever told u the fuel consumption was good is talking shite lol mines fairly guzzles the juice!

that could be down to your over fueling issue james as mine was pretty good on fuel
