Think that will be the case with most people, cars are only hassle & money pits but we need/want them!!

I'm never happy, have to weigh up it though, sometimes it's not worth the money, others it is. Would like to chase the 400 figure but I really can't justify the costs at the moment.

Indeed, it's being worked on at the moment. Probably ruin my bank account for May and maybe June but IMO it will be worth it.

I'd like to get new wheels, or at least have mine refurbished.

Some stonechips on the front that were not there when I got it i'd like to be painted & the side skirts could do with a blow over.

Tunning my car costs way too much so its not even on the agenda, I just wouldnt waste the money.

I cant have the above done because every penny I make left over each month needs to be used to do up the house.

Im not too bothered though, its still a great car to drive, theres nothing wrong with it bar some cosmetic work & im hoping to get around to polishing the wheels myself if I get the time.

reason i ask is a friend of mine is going to stop doing things to his car once he gets a mag feature. I just found this a strange point to give up at. I can still think of a lot of achievable things i can do to my car that i am looking into.

It always happens to me when I see other peoples cars similar to mine on the web & how they've done theirs on a seemingly endless budget & I go green with envy.

But then they reveal that they've spent £10k on it over the past 10 months & you start to think, yeah ok it looks shit hot but its still a 6yr old M3, probably worth 15k...........& you'll still get bored with it & sell it in a while & loose 80% of the money you've pumped into it so really whats the point.

Thats my outlook anyway.

What car is it??

Hes probably bored with it & wanting a new challenge rather than run out of things to do?? I think thats often the case?

I did with my Green one, at one point I was planning for a full respray, retrimmed interior and a C16XE conversion, but none of it happened, I started to get into other projects and the Green one just took a back seat and eventually got sold.
Looking back on it I wish I did do all I had planned to the Green Corsa as I waisted alot of money on my other projects which never got anywhere.

But now I have the Astra and I don't really have a limit set yet where I would say "ok thats enough now", Im 20 and enjoy spending money on my cars and don't have a house to pay for etc so it keeps me happy.

its not about what it costs and what you lose colin at all. If thats the way you look at it everything you buy ever loses money so its not really relevant? Im not bothered about the money. Id rather see something for the outlay than a hang over on a sunday morning.

I have always wanted to do stuff with my past cars, looking for new bits etc

But I'm actually happy with my car as it is and am wondering if it's worth spending money on it as I think it's good standard. Granted it could be made better, but I'm not sure if I want too, we shall see.

Your not wrong there nic, however I must just look at things from a different angle from you.

Going back to my example 10k into a car in under a year thats worth 15k that will probably be sold within the year doesnt represent value to me. I couldnt bring myself to do that anyway.

i have had my car for 5 years. Probably havent spent that much on it as a percentage of its value really. Not much of what i have is corsa specific. So its no drama.
