Just want to clarify this before I take further action.
If I put my mom down as an additional driver when getting insurance quotes it drops it a lot!
I can get insured on cars that ive always wanted etc now with 4 yncb.
But how does it work? If I crash does she loose her ncb she has now? Vies versa..
Just means she can drive it legally? (even though she would be told to gtf)

It's perfectly legal, my Mum and Dad are always named drivers on my policy just to bring it down a bit

All it does is drop the premium, but technically they still have to use the car sometimes, but how would the insurance companies know? they don't.

Plus when I crashed, my Mum was on the policy and I she didn't loose anything, I just got the crash on my record and lost my NCB.
My parents do use the car once in a blue moon

Had my mum on my policy for a few years even though she only has a provisional/full bike license it still dropped. This year though it made it more expensive so she came off

I'm also waiting for that Ben.
What to say that one day when I've had a drink my parents need to move my car so theycan get one of theirs out. They need insurance for that so better to have them there just in case huh ?

I always have both parents on the policy as additional drivers, its a win-win.
Drops the price, and if they ever need to drive it for whatever reason, they can totally legally

I recently took mum off my policy. She had an accident in her own car which had to be declared and ended up costing me about another £100

Be carefull if you do this though - I had my ex on my policy for this reason and when we split up I figured I might aswell leave her on for a while.. and forgot!
A year & half later I wrote my car off and the insurance wanted a copy of her license aswell as mine! She went awol at me, thinking I was trying to make a claim in her name!! Almost cost me my payout as she wasn't willing to co-operate, but in the end she gave up & co-operated.
We got back together as a result of being back intouch... guess she felt sorry for me, but it didn't last - slag cheated on me & we split up again.
...but be warned

I'm still on my ex's policy as I make it cheaper for her apparently. Yet to take advantage of that and borrow the car lol.

Added driver wont loose nothing. As its the main driver that gains the no claims. Dunno how it works on those where added drivers get no claims too though.
Ive got my mum and sister on mine, dropped it alot, my mum would never be allowed to drive it, and my sister lives 30miles away

yes you probably are. adding drivers is free, unless you're with some weird shit insurance company.

Most of the price comparison sites actually recommend adding an older driver to the policy.
