Heard it on the news, but no proof has surfaced.

I don't believe it tbh.

Higgins and Mooney claim they are innocent and there is no suggestion or accusation that Higgins has ever thrown a match or been involved in any fraudulent activity during an 18-year professional career in which he has collected more than £5 million in prize money.

“Today is the start of the biggest match of my life,” Higgins said. “It’s not the World Championship that’s at stake, it’s something even more important, my reputation. I will fully co-operate with the snooker authorities.”

The News of the World has video evidence of a meeting with Higgins and Mooney that took place in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on Friday. Higgins claims he was “really spooked” by what he thought were members of the Russian mafia, a sentiment echoed by Mooney. “I have never deliberately missed a shot, never mind intentionally lost a frame or a match,” Higgins said. “My conscience is 100 per cent clear.”

I wish I could believe him

IMO if he was so innocent he would have gone straight to the authorities to say what happened just in case.

He would have thown the match but now will not do as he will say he needs to show hes trust worthy...more like just caught out

what a tosser! he's not even what i'd call "past it" yet so he's still got more prize money to play for. this has really pissed me off as i'm a big snooker fan. i'd like to see him banned for life for bringing the game into disrepute.

Oh i wasn't on about the gambler, more about first colour potted scams and first frame winner things like that

That hidden camera proves he is bent and should be banned for life

Unfortunately they all are bent, maguire still plays after that game with burnett, the most dodgy thing ever

Stephen Lee getting involved in losing first frames and things like that, ronnie throwing a game in china leaving an easy black over the pocket because he'd already booked his flight home

(all what i've read and could be proven wrong)

i believe Higgins' manager has come out and said that they agreed to a match fixing deal as they were fearing for their safety. i didn't notice anything in that video that made me think they were being forced into it with threats of any kind. it all seemed a bit relaxed when they were discussing what price they had agreed on etc. i'd like to think that other players wouldn't do anything like this but how could you ever prove that they aren't corrupt? unless they have been caught out like Higgins has then you can never prove anything.

Absolutely crazy.

You either ban him for life or let him away scot free, there is no scope for anything in between.

What a load of crap. 6 month ban but he's already done 4 months so basically 2 months.
