looking to a semi smooth boot does anyone no if its better to weld the wiper hole and boot lock or just smooth it over with fibre glass

As Tom said get it welded. I did my first one using fibre glass and it cracked. I've had two welded ones and they've been 100% spot on.

cheers do u weld it from the front of the boot or behing as u cant get into the wiper hole

The bodyshop that done mine welded the wiper hole from behind. Its got a small plate over it
