I called my local motor factors for an inlet manifold gasket for my 1991 Nova TD, They say "Sorry we don't do that paticular part"
I asked how much it wold be
they said "should'nt be more than £5"
I call Vauxhall dealers (As it's the only place that stock them) and they have 1 left!
I'm happy, so i ask the price..........After he tells me, i'm not very happy anymore.
£14.98 + VAT For a stinking gasket!!!!!

vaux dealer r fooking thieving b@stards. TROUBLESOME took his car for a tech2 test coz of his car drinking way too much petrol. they charge him around £50 but found nothing and gave no advise to wat it could be.
this week end TROUBLESOME had a go with a paper clip to read off the last fault from the ecu and manage to get a fault!!!!
all this from a fecking paper clip.
they charge OTT prices for everything and manage to get away with it.

If ya know ppl who work there u be loving it... my mom has a vaux company car and knew the dude down there so i took my car there when it was playing up....instead of charging me £75, i paid £22.
even though i'm sorted out when i have to take my car their, it just so bad that vaux charge so high when they dont really need to.

I called the motor Factiors "A.R.E" and asked them if they had one.
They said "yes" but then he said "ah, We dont stock that as a company" So that means none of their branches stock it.
Then i called another, and another and another......no one had them in stock.
Then i all Vauxhall, and suprise suprise they had one!
I'd keep a massive stock of them if i was charging £14.98 + VAT, especially if no one else stocks them cos you know they will HAVE to pay that to get the goods.
Either that or wait a few days to get one.

I got the same problem. Couple of local places couldn't get hold of the right accelarator cable which would've cost £15 so had to go to Vauxhall! £35.42 they charged and thats trade price!!!!!

get the fuck over it. vauxhall are no different to any other manufacture. they are quite cheap on some things. i've bought copy handbrake and clutch cables before and they last no where as near as long as a GM part

Think I paid about £5 for a corsa inlet manifold from a vauxhall dealer.
True £14 is rather steep. But look at it from Vauxhalls point of view.
The car stopped being produced 10 years ago, The parts are going to be in less demand hence the price goes up cos its costing them more to manufacture a off production line part.
