why do they squeak? i know this sounds stupid, got some newish mintex pads on and the front left passenger one after about 5 mins of driving squeak REALLY bad, its driving me nuts. I applied a good amount of copper grease to backs of pads? could it be they need more?

Could be the actual pads my Mintex 1144's squealed and so do my Ferrodo DS2500's

However it could be as simple as copper greasing backs of the pads

They squeek until they are hot, they are race pads.

apply plenty of copper grease to the friction surface on the pad, that will cure the squeak

Copper slip where the pads slide in, the backs are usually coated in a non-squeel material?
