Been thinking about this for a little while now and there seem to be a couple of very nice cars going about now if your under 20 etc you might not know what i mean but when i first started driving the 106 GTI was the daddy and Escort GTI's where still selling for 4K
So which would you have and why? It has to be Hot Hatch in this kinda catagory ish..

I put down for the Nurb. Just a little bit more special than a normal VXR, and the noise they make. Oofft! Love it!

I would opt for a regular VXR just because in my head, Nurbs are not as good a deal.
Regular VXR - more choice and therefore potentially cheaper for equiv age and spec and cheaper again if don't mind an old one.
Edit - and for that money, the M3 would be a bit tired? I didn't research this post as you may guess.

Really like M3s, with the VXR (either) a close second.

Do you mean the MK6 Golf R or MK5 Golf R32 better than a VXR edition

I know 2 people with E46 M3s and both love them, horses for courses ( I do prefer the look of E36 M3s though).

Thats a hard one as I really like all the cars on the list.
But if i was going to look at a new car it would be out of the M3 and the VXR.
I do really like VXR's but would fancy something different from Vauxhall for my next car considering Vauxhalls are all I have had since car number 1, but if I was to find the money tomorrow I would upgrade to a VXR no doubt.
But Ive always planned an M3 after the Gsi in a couple of years time so that would be my choice

What sort of budget are we talking?
A Clio v6 would be pretty cool and something different
or what about a 147/156 Gta? Full leather, bucket seats and about 250bhp iirc

M3 - not that they're in the same class as any of the other options.

My serious answer.
MK5 VW Golf GTI Edition 30 DSG. So easy to tune (300+bhp easy) and dont need much to make them look even better either.
I'd love an M3 but the running costs are basically ridiculous.

ST...... as I own one....
Alternatively, an E46 M3 I think, but servicing costs etc. always puts me off....plus the extra £300 to insure one over the ST!
