you have to undo the clamps and twist it round a bit until it sits higher up. it will be stiff and a right bitch to do

Yeah, it'll be hitting on the rear beam. Try and adjust the angle to give it more clearence.

How much is the rear lowered by?

Nope, I cable tied an old exhaust rubber over my beam, it worked great. It won't melt or burn because it's not in constant contact with it, plus the hangers on the exhaust will get hot so I can only assume they're made to withstand a certain amount of heat.

It took a while to get the cable ties right so it didn't fall off. What I did was put one either side of the spine thing on the rubber, then tied the two ties together more or less on top of the actual rubber itself. Otherwise the ties work their way to the outsides and it falls off.

It would probably be easier to rest a tie on top of the rubber before putting the other two on, as trying to get it underneath when they were both tight was tricky

Yeah, it's definitely the budget way of doing it

Especially seeing as I already had all the bits

Yea Dave showed me that pic a while ago, it works a treat.

Although I cut my rubber differently to yours so that when I opened it out it had a hole at either end. This ment I could use two cable ties (one through each hole) zipped into each other under the beam so that they don't slip or melt.

but your not really solving the problem with the rubber are you, just quietning it down. as said in this thread just undo the clamp and twist the back box, ye it might be a little stiff but atleast you have solved the problem

I twisted mine and manipulated it in every possible way and it still hit the beam. I did have it sorted for a bit somehow (still not really sure how) but then I took it off again to fit the reducer and it started doing it again Decided that the rubber did a good enough job so left it
