its a cool running one from lmf, i've filled the water back up after fitting and took it for a drive, came back and the water level dropped. so i took the cap off to fill it up and the water started to rise when i took it off and boiled out.
Could it be an air lock or something?

coolant hose coming off the stat housing into the top of the rad will get considerably warm when the stats opened, and to make sure its bleeding up okay, leave it ticking over and put the fan in the car on full speed and heaters on hot and make sure your getting warm air out of the vents hope this helps

Check your water level when the car is cold. If it is back to the Kalt mark then everything is ok. Since the system should be pressurized anyway, it is perfectly ok for the water to boil up a bit, do watch that you do not take the cap off too quickly, you could get scalded quite easily.

when u fill your water up after doing somthing like changing a stat what you want to do is
run the car without the cap on and put ur blowers on in the car on full heat and let it bleed up till the blow warm
