Twitch, How did you jailbreak yours? I've got the fireware 3.1.3 on my 3gs, and from what i was reading on the pinned topic, it all seemed very dodgy :S
Care to shed some light on the situation for me?
EDIT: Atm it seems impossible to JB a 3GS with my software versionj and modem firmware... Poo

WHats the score with this installious?
Found something i want (tomtom) and it just takes me to a normal website, click download then u juts gte a list of .rar's
seems a bit wank to be, unless im missing something

seems very dodgy? jailbreak with spirit as mentioned http://spiritjb.com/
The modem firmware is irrlevant as this is a jailbreak not an unlock.

Installous is great for little apps. I download all big apps like tomtom etc off torrents or newsgroups and u need to install an app called appsync off cydia installe and then u just open the tomtom app on your pc and it adds it to itunes so it syncs next time

I disagree with the intentions of Installious.
Most of the apps are 59p, alot are even less than £2.
I think when they're that cheap, you should give the developer some credit/respect.
Pirating Apps when they £50+ is one thing, but 59p is

Yes there are, and dont get me wrong, ive pirated a number of £40+ apps because I feel the price is unjust, but to pirate cheap apps is shocking.

Ah Cheers guys, I was reading on the iphone dev blog about QuickPWN & Pwnage Tool, just said I would have to wait for JB, didnt even see Spirit
EDIT: Woo, Worked a threat and was done surprisingly quickly.. lol. I have a few questions, I can still connect it to Itunes and everything and Update my ipod music etc? And still use The normal Apple store, Just dont update the Photo Software direct from Apple? That right?

btw, how does Installious work? Ive never looked at it, but heard about it alot.
TBF i don't know the in's and out's of how it works but i pretty much go on the App store to see what new app's are out, Top 10's etc, then go into installous and search for the app. It then comes up with a few different locations you can D/L it from, you have to go through a few Ads(presume this is where they get the money to keep it running) and just hit the 'download' button and it downloads straight to the phone.
iTunes questions your authority to use the apps when you Sync but doesnt do anything about taking them off etc.

i only use the app tracker (appulo.us) source on installous.
Itunes only questions you if they were cracked incorrectly and still authorised to another pc.

installious is like app store but everything is free  when you install it it puts a icon on your phone and u download everything off there its well worth getting

Tried Installious today with some shitty little 99p App Just to try it, Soon as it installed and i tried to use it, it came up with a push message saying Privacy detected, please re-download/install from the app store, then it automaticly closed the app :S
Any ideas?

yeah just use everything as usual. Just don't upgrade firmware untill your sure it has been cracked.
