Went into my local key cutting place today and she said its £60 to cut the key because it has a chip inside she says?? ive not a Toad Ai606 alarm on the car so surely the standed imb has been deactivated? and i can get a normal key

so shes rite then gotta pay £60? ive had the same kinda key before on my old gsi corsa and i had a normal key with no probs?

Thats expensive even for a transponder key. It doesnt really help you but we do them for £25.
Shop around.

Presumably you need to have the new chip programmed to the immobiliser too? Is this a replacement or a spare key? One thing you can do is get the key cut and take the chip out the current key and put it in the new one if it's a replacement.

if you cant swap the transponder over it sometimes works if you tape the old key somewhere near the ignition barrel.
