Here goes my first project thread. It may be a slow process.........
I bought My Fab 2 months ago now. It's a 1.9TDi -130bhp VRS totally standard:
Interesting coloured interior:
Helps to achieve 65mpg for motorway cruising:
'Grandad' appearance - horrible chrome grill!
On the way home from work one night, a rock found it's way through my grill - luckily the radiator was ok
So I purchased a second hand grill and set about colour coding (no VRS badge stuck back on yet):
Washed a polished:
I then decided to get rid of the Green and Red Vrs badges (and the FABIA rear badge) and had some carbon fibre sheet left over.
(The green and red on the rear badge isn't really visible, god knows how the camera picked it up:
Front grill badge:
Bought me a Seat Leon Cupra R splitter:
Just need to fit the grill badge back on and the splitter over the bank holiday weekend, along with some headlight protectors purchased recently.
Other plans:
Lowering
Different wheels
Audi TT front seats (when some come up at a reasonable price) and possible stipping the rear out
Reseal the rear door panels (a common fault on Fabias) - water leaks into the rear footwells - mine seems ok so far, but I want to make sure
Possible remap
Leon Cupra air intake
Ibiza strutbrace and ARBs
Cupra bushes
Possible Porsche brake upgrade
Possible FMIC
Modify old broken grill for an air intake

Porsche alloys fit with adaptors
- but everyone does that, so I'm going to go for something a little different

mates got one of these its the 1.9tdi same as yours,but it running big power 215hp and a lot of torqe,its so quik
not a very good pic as i hadnt washed it yet so was dirty

Bushes a nightmare to fit or a nightmare on wear?
Lol, I know, the seats leave a little to be desired. Original full leathers are like rocking horse sh*t and go for a small fortune. Why on earth they chose this colour, god knows! From my research, I think TT seats will go straight in..or maybe some from an RS4...hmmm.

M17tty, put some pics of yours on here too! I am a member on Briskoda, it's very informative, but they have wierd rules about re-posting etc, so I tend to just browse and not contribute. The 'how to' guides are great though!

couple i have but had some more mods done since like the black grill and cruise control retro fitted.
cupra splitter
lowered 25mm on eibachs (done by previous owner)

Cool, some nice pics there M17tty. I like the carbon fibre bits. There's a couple of people on Briskoda who've trimmed the gear stick down for a shorter shift - apparently works quite well!
Did you fit the CC yourself? It looks like a kit I was watching on Ebay recently. Is it a DIY jobby to fit, then just activate with a computer at a Skoda garage? How much does activation cost?

Yeah i got the cc stalk off ebay from a skoda shop for £60 and a chinese special vagcom cable too then downloaded a full version of vagcom so activation cost me £5 plus the £60 for the stalk.The adding of cc took about 2 1/2 hours and is all plug and play apart from 1 wire that needs extending by about 3 metres to reach the opposite side of the engine bay.This is also a useful site to have a read of....

Well, over the weekend, I managed to fit my headlight protectors and my Leon Cupra R splitter:
The headlight protectors were missing the clips when I bought them, so my girlfriend's hair bobbles came in handy for the time being, lol:
Then fitted the splitter, such a simple but effective mod:
Then played with the original VRS badge on the grill:
What are people's opinions on the grill badge? yey or nay?

I had one of these a while back. Was remapped, on coilovers, octavia spiders and had various other modifications. It unfortunately had a few issues and i ended up selling it, but it was very quick and pretty well specced being a late mk1. Theres a limited edition vrs leather interior that looks nicer than the cream cloth. As said check under the carpet for water ingress, mine was flooded in all but one front footwell. Console bushes are rubbish as standard, so fit some from a leon cupra. They do respond well to a remap though

I personally like the standard seats. The limited edition ones are black leather with blue piping/stitching.
As for the badge, I'd put it on but have it in the same position that the original was.

Not much progress, but gave it a wash and polish (forgot the tyre shine!).....
Then fitted my Facepalm sticker, it then started to rain, so the sticker summed up how I felt after all my hard work!
I've got the chance to buy some black BBS split rims, exactly the same as Sean-B s on here, with 2 tyres, black centres with polished rims. They're 16s. The only problem is they've been refurbed by the bloke in Hammerite black, so the finish isn't brilliant.
He'll let me have them for £200, but my only issue would be the finish of them - would I be able to remove the Hammerite if I wanted to refurb them again?

A few minor mods since my last post:
I fitted and wired up an after-market Audi cruise control stalk and loom. It involved soldering into the ECU loom, which I got a specialist to do incase I messed it up!! The rest was done by me though:
Did an oil change, sounds like a new car!! :
Bought some new standard front discs and pads for £80 - bargain! Needed some as the current ones are worn.
Unsure whether to have a go at fitting them myself or not - never done it before, but have just purchased a Haynes manual:
Pretty boring updates really, but updates nonetheless!
Lowering it early next year - not sure whether to go for coilies, 60mm shocks and springs or just some 25mm springs - suggestions welcome!

Finally more updates!
Had a big cambelt service done earlier this year, as although it wasn't due mileage-wise it was over due age wise!
The largest, most recent mod however is that finally I've fitted some coilovers! Been a long time coming, but I got my hands on some APs at a very good price, so I fitted them promptly last week, along with a Honda stubby aerial, which actually makes quite a difference itself.
In the pictures below, the car is on a slope so looks slightly lower when level (we had a last minute camping trip, hence it being VERY dirty too!), although I think I may need to lift the front slightly, not only to make speed bumps easier, but to level it up with the rear. The sump is now only a couple of inches off the floor, which is the biggest problem.
I also fitted a lower RARB off Antnee on here, which makes a massive difference on the twisties.
