Yesterday saw me up at Lemass tackling a Seat Leon in straight black. It's seen a couple of bits of paintwork in the past and in general was starting to look quite tired (very grey for a black car) purely because of the amount of swirls.

Very small amount of photos from this one due to the appalling weather meaning I just had to knuckle down as and when I could, and due to a slightly later start than originally planned

Prerinse: ValetPro Citrus Pre Wash applied through pressure sprayer to lower halves
Wheels: Nielsens Non Acidic Cleaner
Tyres / Arches: Autosmart G101, tyres later dressed with Nielsens Brilliance
Wash: Autosmart Duet, 2 bucket method, grit guards, Refined Detail wash mitt
Dried (several times!): Refined Detail waffle weave towels
Clay: Bilt Hamber Soft and weak Autosmart Reglaze. Very little tar so removed small amount with the clay rather than my usual Tardis.
Enhancement: No mucking around here, time was of the essence and I was against tough VAG paint. Cracked out my new Festool wool pads and 3M Fast Cut + and got to work cutting back the whole car.
Refinement: 3M Extra Fine on 3M Yellow pad
Wax: 2 coats of Autosmart Wax
Exhaust: Autosol and wire wool
Windows: Nielsens Blue Window Clean

Just the one 50/50 to give you the idea of the level of correction achieved with just 1 pass of Fast Cut + then refined with Extra fine

And a few rushed shots at the end as we all wanted to get home!

Thanks to Wayne & Tom

Comments, questions and constructive criticism welcome as per usual.

Cheers

Looks nice that, another reason why I can't see me ever owning a black car!

Cheers.

TBH as long as you get one in good nick to start with or get one then have it detailed, then as long as you keep to a careful wash routine they're not too bad to keep on top of. This one visits hand car washes regularly though

I don't always use Autosol - I quite often use Britemax twins or Briliant metal polishes which are far superior, but I use what I deem necessary on each job

nice! VERY shiny

I'm gonna have to use you one day when I have some money.

Think I'll need some paint work first, though

Yeah, the first option is much easer However I probably would have had it done anyway because I'm like that

cool, I will use you guys. James has recommended you both to me

I need to save up a little first. Had faulty Brembo caliper (£400!), EGT sensor (£170!), front discs, pads all round and a major service. Spent over £1k on it
