Is it possible? If so what cables go where? And wht settings should the amp be on? And how would i control the loudness of the sub?

Aslong as you have RCA plugs on the CD player you can do it

I presume you are referring to a standard head unit in a vauxhall.

Most aftermarket amplifiers have RCA inputs, hence why aftermarket headunits have RCA outputs. No vauxhall headunits have RCA outputs they only have high-level outputs going to the speakers.

These high-level outputs can be converted to line level RCA by the use of a converter, like this one here, so you can use an aftermarket amp.

Your amp settings should be how you want them, so that the gain is matched as such that it gives a good quality output (remember the gain control is NOT a volume control).

The volume of the sub will go up and down with the volume of the headunit.

scotch clip into the signal wire for the rear speaker going to signal in on the sub then sort your power cable and Robert's you're father's brother you're done.

are another way round it take it to a good car diognostics person who mess about with head units and electrical components for a living and ask them to put you some rca ouputs on
