Going off the O2 website the tarriff for the 3g iPad is £2 a day for the most basic one, is this right? Sounds very expensive
Anyways, if you had an iPhone with an unlimited data package and bought one of the below adapters, would it be possible to tether from the iPhone to the iPad via USB? If not is anyone any good at making apps?

Ahh, couldnt find this on the o2 site. Still it would save £120 a year and the difference in cost for a Wifi only iPad...or would it have to be the 3g one for the method to work anyway...

Thats what i meant, i know they wont officially release a method as people wouldnt need an extra tarriff to browse the net as they could just do it through their phone.
Im looking to buy one but dont want the extra tarriff on the iPad nor pay the extra for the 3g one, if i can somehow hookup my iPhone to it and browse that way.

Three have got by far the cheapest data plan with the most data to match.

You just use the one which tethers the 3g to a wireless point.

It's called MyWi, you can get a free trial of it for 10 days or buy it for permanent use for $9.99 IIRC.
MyWi then broadcasts a wireless signal from your phone (with WPA protection if you wish) and you connect to that wireless signal using a laptop/ipad.
I'm currently using the trial version to do this, as my new flat doesn't have internet yet! Works pretty well, I've just found that when turning the wireless signal on it sometimes has issues - sometimes just cannot set up the signal, but a bit of messing with which wireless channel to use and rebooting the phone usually gets it started.

Just had a go on my dads ipad, love it! gonna get one manana. I was a little dubious about getting the WIFI version but I installed mywi off of sinfuliphone repo and works brilliantly. A lot better than pdanet which I used to use.
