This has been talk for a year now.
It went down, it was always going to come back up and over the old rate to draw back funding.
It was always when, not if it was going to happen.
I'll wait to hear official confirmation though.

Exactly, so no one should really be complaining about a 2.5% rise.
I noticed next to fuck all when it went to 15%.

Doubt it will make much difference to me, barely noticed any change when it went down to 15% or back up to 17.5%

The country is fucked, so things will have to go up, this is a good way for me as i wont be buying any mega expensive electronics stuff anytime soon so the odd 10-20p here and there im really not going to notice

They do, but it still has an effect..You notice more and more people not coming to the pub. Tennents was £2.10 when I started in my work..its now £2.40..thats insane.

It went down to 15% so it has to go back up to a higher rate
People in this country just want everything for nothing.

Yep thats the case oceansole, not that potentially 20% of what we spend on a product will be going to the government, but instead we want something for nothing.
I just dont like the idea that an extrand £35 / £40 of what I spend each month is going to a government of which I dont agree with.

Beer, fags etc are all "want" items so its people moaning over nothing.
What happens if you can't afford a car? You don't buy it.
If you can't afford to go for a pint, don't. You don't HAVE to go to the pub. Get a few cans and go sit by a river or something.
Its choice, and people are whinging over nothing. Petrol increase, sure, everyone NEEDS petrol. You don't need fag, beer etc...
People seem to loose all sense of prioritys really

Would you consider washing machine, vacuums, irons, fridges, ovens luxury items? makes a big difference in my industry - white goods - in terms of our profts and the customers wallet.
From my point of view - I need a new laptop soon - I have a couple of student debts which are nearly paid off, i have a job, earn a reasonable wage but nothing stupid - generally im ok with money - pay my taxes ect and always have done....... and yet im gonna have to pay a considerable amount more for my laptop soon due to the irresponsible action of the millionaires who run our country and our banking system ..... I personally think that is a big deal and can see why it makes people livid - VAT raises dont make much of a diffrence to most ofus - but they make a massive difference to those workers at the bottom of the earnings pile

VXR, i simply went straight for beers as thats a figure that is fairly consistent for me and it shows over £30 extra for just a 2.5% increase (people saying they wont notice it etc)
