I wouldn't do it with rattle cans if that's what you're thinking about. You could get a bonnet sprayed for sub £100.

You could prep and primer it before, that could save some pennies surely?

rattle cans are for spraying bits you dont really see, if you paint a bonnet with one you will just have to wash it all off or pay extra as they are a night mare to paint over, when you then decide to send it to a bodyshop cos it looks poo
