both amps are staying on when the fuses are taken out they go off....the wires are in the right slots....What you getting at?

try putting the remote cable onto the aerial cable behind the head unit (blue and white one) use a volt meter and check when you turn the head unit on and off the voltages to make sure its cutting it out.

even if i did that surely if removing the remote full stop would stop it from being on right? but when i do remove the remote it is still on....

The remote cable, tells weather to turn the amp off and on! You will need this else your battery will go flat!

if you don't have the remote on it will be on constantly, when the remote is connected, is acts as a switch and controls your amp

Oh i understand thank you for the detailed explanation it helps understand the problem Im gunna get a switch then for my remotes and it should solve the problem ill let you know....

you shoudlnt need a switch for the remotes if you put it on remote at the back of your headunit it will send power to the amp when the cd players on but i dont understand how not having the remote connected still powers the amp and when you say remotes does that mean you have wired 2 amps in it must be getting another live from somewhere else

Righttt from battery - One power to a dual power distrabutor spltting to powers to seperate amps....each remote cable has been seperate from an amp to be joined to the head unit remote via choc bloc....each amp has a seperate ground....

try putting a switch on the live wire to the amps ya can mount them on the dash
